Colnago is pleased to present its first bike designed to ride on any surface, from perfect asphalt to dirt roads, from concrete to light gravel. Meeting the increasingly demanding requests of cyclists and enthusiasts, Colnago has decided to create a bicycle dedicated to all cyclists who want to be able to continue pedaling even when the smooth asphalt ends.
The concept on which the C68 is based rests on the delicate balance between performance and driving pleasure.
Refined design, integration and modernity are at the heart of the project: unlike the road model, dedicated geometries have been studied for the C68 Allroad, which have made the bike more comfortable and compact, as well as an optimization of the rear fork to mount tires up to 35mm.
The wider chainstays can accommodate up to 35mm tires
Compared to the C68 Road, the C68 Allroad has a shorter reach and higher stack. Thus, the upper body is less stressed and the arms are less stressed. With this solution, in fact, it is possible to lighten the stress on the wrists and shift the load to the pelvis, with the result of greater pedaling comfort, especially on uneven surfaces and during long outings.
However, the changes to the frame geometry don't end there. To improve the pedaling experience on uneven surfaces, the C68 Allroad can fit wider tires than the Road model, up to 35mm.
Also, the downtube section has been changed from that of the C68 Road. The chainstays have also been reinforced.
In keeping with the tradition of the Colnago C Series, the C68 Allroad is not a monocoque, but a modular frame, made up of various parts assembled together by the expert hands of our craftsmen.
Some seams remain visible, while others have been masked with a complex gluing process. This is the bandage: a process whereby bands of carbon fabric are placed in several layers over the joint areas and then filed.
The result is a clean frame, which can recall a monocoque, but which leaves the head tube head and the seat post junction in evidence, in a delicate and light way.
The C68 Allroad is entirely handmade in Italy, and continues the tradition of Made in Cambiago modular frames.
The suggested price in Europe, with a high-end setup (Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset, Shimano C50 wheels, Colnago CC.01 integrated cockpit, Prologo Scratch M5 CPC saddle, Pirelli PZero Race TLR 700x30 tyre) is €15,335.
Weight not communicated but it should be around 7.5Kg, with the Shimano Dura Ace group.
