With the Blast, Ridley expands its mountain bike range once again. The Blast is an entry-level model for cycling enthusiasts who want to experience the world of spectacular jumps, rocky descents, and steep climbs. Equipped with a 100mm travel fork, the bike is ready for these challenges while also incorporating all the modern features of this discipline.

The geometry of the Blast is modern, with a ‘head tube angle’ of 68.5 degrees and a seat tube angle of 74.6 degrees, just like the top model Probe RS. Other features found on more expensive carbon models, such as the ability to use a dropper post and internal cable routing, are also present on the Blast. Thus, the top models within Ridley’s lineup, including the Probe and the Raft, were taken into consideration.

The Blast is more than just a regular mountain bike. It features two additional attachment points on the top tube for a frame bag, as well as the option to mount a stand, luggage rack, and mudguards. This makes the Blast the perfect companion for urban commuting.

For the Blast, you have the choice of a Shimano CUES 1x9, 1x10, or 1x11 drivetrain com#bined with hydraulic Shimano disc brakes. The developers opt for a ‘complete’ Shimano group with all components. Each Blast comes with a Selle Italia Model X saddle and 4ZA

XCD aluminum wheels fitted with 29x2.25 Vittoria Barzo tires.

In an Olympic year, as is customary, there is much attention on the mountain bike discipli#ne. Product developers realize that it is a demanding sport, often leaving beginners feeling a bit lost. That’s why there’s now the Blast: a bike that introduces you to the mountain biking world without losing its simplicity.
