NEW MERIDA BIG NINE 2026: All the Technical Info You Need to Know
The new BIG.NINE 400, 200, and 40 offer a completely updated geometry, 120mm forks, and optimized details for every size. Thanks to TFS technology and quality finishes, these new mountain bikes deliver high off-road performance, a premium design, and an accessible price, making them ideal for those looking to enter the MTB world without compromise. The new BIG.NINE models will be available in early 2026.
In a world where bicycle prices seem to rise relentlessly, Merida remains true to its mission: to offer high-performance products with excellent value, perfect for those beginning their journey into the mountain bike world. It is for this reason that the Taiwanese company is expanding the BIG.NINE family with the completely revamped 400, 200, and 40 models in the 2026 range.
With updated geometry, increased tire clearance, longer travel forks, optimized solutions for different sizes, and numerous other small details (which can make all the difference…), Merida has created even more performing mountain bikes without losing the versatility that has always characterized their entry-level hardtails.
The BIG.NINE models use 29” wheels, which provide excellent obstacle-surmounting capability and stable handling. Each size is designed to offer an ideal riding experience, with handlebar widths and crank lengths proportioned to the rider. The new geometry, featuring a longer reach, slacker head angles, and steeper seat tube angles, improves off-road riding. Most models are now equipped with 120mm suspension forks, without compromising handling, which remains accessible even for beginners or those not seeking extreme performance.
The heart of these bicycles is Merida's proprietary technology, named TFS (Techno Forming System), a mechanical aluminum tube forming process that reduces costs without sacrificing quality, offering a resistant, versatile, and well-designed product.
Thanks to careful component selection and high-level painted finishes, the new BIG.NINE 400, 200, and 40 stand out with a premium look and an accessible price, confirming Merida's commitment to creating entry-level MTBs that combine performance, design, and affordability.
