Campagnolo Super Record X Wireless 2026: Price, Weight, and Complete Description of the 13-Speed Groupset for Gravel and All-Road
1. Technical Description of the Super Record X Platform
Groupset Architecture and Modularity
The Campagnolo Super Record 13-speed electronic drivetrain system has been expanded with the introduction of the Super Record X platform, specifically designed for gravel and all-road disciplines. This expansion is based on a modular architecture that utilizes three distinct rear derailleur configurations, while maintaining shared key components such as the Ergopower levers and the hydraulic disc brake system.
The three defined rear derailleur variants are:
Super Record (Road): Medium cage version, optimized for 2x road configurations.
Super Record (All-Road): Standard cage length version (86 mm), but equipped with the Nano Clutch system for chain retention. This configuration supports both 2x setups for all-road and fast gravel, and 1x road configurations, with a maximum sprocket capacity of 36 teeth.
Super Record X (Gravel): Extended cage version (92.5 mm), equipped with a gravel-specific Nano Clutch and a higher-torque shift motor for handling demanding ratios. It is dedicated exclusively to 1x configurations and allows for a maximum sprocket size of 48 teeth.
Nano Clutch Technology and Internal Specifications
The distinctive technical feature of the All-Road and Gravel versions is the innovative Nano Clutch miniaturized friction system, integrated into the rear derailleur's p-knuckle.
This system is designed to optimize chain tension over rough surfaces, preventing chain drop in both 1x and 2x configurations. The system is optimized to minimize friction: while adding less than 30 grams to the derailleur's weight, it is calibrated with two distinct tension ranges specific to the disciplines (road/TT 1x, all-road 2x, gravel 1x) to avoid unnecessary mechanical drag.
All three derailleurs share the same removable and rechargeable battery, with an estimated range of approximately 750 km. All models use a carbon composite b-knuckle and an alloy U-link, but they differ in p-knuckles, cages, and unique internal components.
Weight Details and Kinematics
The Super Record platform is produced in Europe and is characterized by structural lightness. The declared weights for the rear derailleurs, including the battery, are:
Super Record 2x Road: 286 g. Uses 14T pulleys (ceramic upper, bushing lower).
Super Record All-Road Nano Clutch: 315 g. Uses 14T pulleys (all ceramic bearings).
Super Record X Gravel Nano Clutch: 347 g. Uses a 12T upper and a 16T lower pulley (all with sealed steel bearings), in a configuration optimized for greater chain wrap.
The total declared weights for the complete groupsets (including derailleurs with battery, shifters, brakes with rotors, chain, and bottom bracket) are: 2441 g for the Road 2x, 2473 g for the All-Road 2x, and 2569 g for the Gravel 1x.
User Interface and Compatibility
A new version of the SR 13 Ergopower controls is now available, which integrates a single additional satellite shift button per lever, connected via cable. This addition is not backward compatible with previous SR13 controls due to patent restrictions.
Regarding cassette compatibility, although the spacing and range are similar to the mechanical Ekar/Ekar GT groupset (13-speed), Super Record X cassettes are not interchangeable with Ekar cassettes. The discrepancy is attributed to revised tooth profiles and a greater number of shift engagement points on the SR X cassettes, necessary to interact effectively with the higher shifting speed of the new electronic derailleur. The combined use of Ekar cassettes and the SR X derailleur is not recommended and could compromise chain integrity.
Bora X Gravel Wheels
Coinciding with the groupset launch, the carbon Bora X wheelset, specifically for gravel, has been introduced. The wheels feature a 50 mm deep profile and a 27 mm hooked tubeless internal width. The set, with a claimed weight of 1430 g, is aerodynamically optimized for 35 to 40 mm tires and uses G3 spoking. In line with Campagnolo tradition, production takes place in Europe.
Commercial Positioning
The Super Record platform is available for purchase with mix-and-match options. Time Trial versions are scheduled for 2026.
The starting prices for the complete groupsets are: €4,300 for the Super Record 2x13 Road; €4,370 for the Super Record 2x13 All-Road; and €3,375 for the Super Record X 1x13 Gravel (with right-hand 1x control only). The crankset with a power meter (HPPM) is available at an additional cost of €1,167. The Bora X wheelset is commercially available for €2,290.
