Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 Test Review Build Quality
The Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 is quite expensive. The road bike is well-built, with a very well-made frame, but ultimately, the value for money is adequate.
There are no sophisticated technical details, even though everything is well-made.
The assembled bike weighs a fair bit, about 8.5 kg.
The size range is very good, as are the build options, but a true top-of-the-line version is missing.
Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 Test Review Frame
The Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 has a well-built frame, available in many sizes and various builds.
Well-made, but lacking any special technical solutions, the assembled SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 weighs 8.5 kg.
The weight is one of its drawbacks, along with the rather high price.
Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 test review Assemblies
The range of assemblies is comprehensive; there's certainly nothing to complain about.
The overall quality is good, but the prices are still slightly high, as is the weight.
However, there's not a significant difference compared to its main competitors.
Furthermore, the well-built frame and wide range of sizes are a plus worth considering.
Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 test review Comfort
Ride comfort is high, though not absolutely excellent.
A good compromise between frame rigidity and ride comfort, it's still a gravel bike for fast, hard-packed roads.
For a trained athlete accustomed to rigid frames, it's undoubtedly a comfortable bike; a simple touring cyclist might find it uncomfortable.
Ultimately, it's in line with its main competitors, and sometimes even better.
Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 test review Guide
The Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 is a very maneuverable gravel bike, easy and quick to enter corners.
It doesn't have heavy steering, always light, and never imprecise, but you need to keep a firm grip on the handlebars at high speeds.
Excellent braking.
Not at all sensitive to crosswinds.
Very easy to ride on winding trails, as well as on long, narrow mountain descents.
Getting the most out of it requires a little experience, but it's a very competitive frame, with a true racing feel, very responsive and fast.
Off-road, it's incredibly fast on hard, compact terrain, where a gravel bike can be pushed fast.
It's slightly more challenging on more technical off-road terrain, where a suspension gravel bike is better.
Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 test review Performance
The relatively high weight slightly limits the overall performance of an otherwise excellent frame.
It's a shame that a build with SRAM Red AXS isn't available.
The frame is very stiff and has excellent overall performance.
On hilly trails, full of small climbs and short descents, and with plenty of curves, it really comes into its own and offers very competitive performance.
Its downhill performance and fast off-road riding are equally competitive.
Performance on the flats is good, but its only limitation is on really steep climbs where the bike's overall weight is noticeable.
It has its flaws, but overall it's a competitive frame, especially on certain routes.
A good compromise.
Ultimately, it only loses out on really steep climbs and on more technical and difficult off-road terrain.
Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 test review Strengths and weaknesses
The Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 is a very capable gravel bike, not cheap and not lightweight.
A competitive bike on the flats, hills, and downhill, it fares less well on steep climbs and technical off-road terrain.
Decent ride comfort and good handling qualities.
The price is slightly high, as is the weight, but the overall quality is good.
Like all compromises, it either delights or disappoints.
The Cervelo Aspero SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2025 is a competitive and versatile gravel bike. The route you ride determines whether it's truly competitive or not.
