Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 test review pros defects problems everything you need to know (really)
Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 test review Build quality
The Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 has a fairly high cost, the racing bike is well made, the frame is very well made, but ultimately the value for money is sufficient.
There are no refined technical details, even if everything is well done.
The weight of the assembled bike is not very low, around 8.5kg.
The availability of sizes is very good, as is that of assemblies, but a true top-of-the-range version is missing.
Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 test review Frame
The Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 has a well-made frame, available in many sizes and various assemblies.
Well made, but without particular technical solutions, the weight of the assembled SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 bike is 8.5Kg in the end.
The weight is one of its defects, along with the fairly high price.
Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 test review Assemblies
The range of assemblies is complete, you certainly can't complain.
The general quality is valid, but the prices are always slightly high, as is the weight.
However, there is not a big difference with the main competitors.
Furthermore, the well-made frame and the wide range of sizes are a plus to take into consideration.
Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 test review Comfort
Ride comfort is high, although not absolutely excellent.
A good compromise between frame rigidity and ride comfort, even if it remains a gravel bike for roads with compact and fast surfaces.
For a trained athlete accustomed to rigid frames it is undoubtedly a comfortable bike, a simple cycle tourist might find it uncomfortable.
Ultimately it is still in line with the main competitors and sometimes better.
Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 test review Guide
The Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 is a very easy to handle gravel bike, easy and quick to enter into turns.
It doesn't have heavy steering, always light, never imprecise, but you need to keep the handlebars firmly at high speeds.
Excellent braking.
Not at all sensitive to side winds.
Very easy to ride on curvy routes, as well as on long, narrow mountain descents.
To get the most you need a minimum of experience, but it is a very competitive chassis, with true racing handling, very reactive and fast.
Off road it is very fast on hard and compact surfaces, where you can make the gravel bike run fast.
Slightly more difficult in the more technical off road, where a suspension gravel bike is better.
Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 test review Performance
The relatively high weight slightly limits the overall performance of an otherwise excellent frame.
A shame that an assembly with the Sram Red Axs is not available.
The frame is very rigid and has excellent overall performance.
On hilly routes, full of small climbs and short descents, full of curves, it really gives its best and offers very competitive performance.
Equally competitive are the performance on downhill and fast off-road routes.
However, its performance on the flat is good, while its only limit is the really hard climbs where the overall weight of the bike is felt.
It has its flaws, but overall it's a competitive chassis, especially on certain courses.
A good compromise.
Ultimately it only loses in the really hard climbs and in the more technical and difficult off-road.
Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 test review Pros and cons
The Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 is a very good gravel bike, not cheap and not light.
A competitive bike on flat, hill and downhill terrain, it fares less well on hard climbs and technical off-road.
The ride comfort is fair and the driving qualities are good.
The prices are slightly high, as is the weight, but the general quality is good.
Like all compromises, it excites or disappoints.
The Cervelo Aspero Gravel SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 2024 is a competitive and multi-purpose gravel bike, the route you tackle then decides whether it is truly competitive or not.
