New Selle Italia SLR 2026 Saddles: Price, Specs, and the Secrets of SLR ELITE and SLR ADVAN
Selle Italia is expanding its SLR saddle range with the introduction of the SLR ELITE and SLR ADVAN models. Available now, these products represent the fourth generation of a cycling icon, blending tradition with targeted technical innovation to optimize performance and comfort.
Design and Technical Secrets
The new SLR lineup maintains the neutral profile and ride feel that have made the model a benchmark since its 1999 debut. Key technical and design changes include:
Reduced Length: At 242mm, the saddle is 6mm shorter than the previous version, bringing it closer to UCI regulations.
Optimized Padding: The padding has been minimized at the back. Analyses using Pressure Map idmatch technology showed that this part of the saddle doesn't significantly affect comfort, allowing for a more efficient weight distribution.
Unchanged Sitting Point: Despite the reduced length, the BRP (Biomechanical Reference Point) and the ischial bone support area remain in the same position, ensuring a seamless transition for long-time users.
Minimalist Aesthetics: The "total black" design is clean and elegant, with model and size indicators in gray, aligning with the look of modern road bikes.
