Mavic presented its X-Tend ebike motor.
Still a prototype that should be adopted on the new 2024 or 2025 e-road bikes.
The new Mavic X-Tend ebike engine makes it possible to create a very light ebike, under 10 kg according to Mavic.
Furthermore, in the absence of engine thrust, pedaling resistance is zero, transforming the Mavic ebike into a normal racing bike.
The engine power is 250Watt, with a torque of 50Nm.
The integrated battery is 360Wh.
The power meter is also integrated into the engine.
The engine requires a specific frame, very similar to a traditional frame, but it is not possible to adapt the Mavic engine to a generic frame that is not specially made for this engine.
BMC collaborates in the development of the engine and it is conceivable that in 2024 we could see a new ebike with this Mavic engine.
