2022 2023 BH Lynx Trail 150 video test review

BH presented the new BH iLynx Trail AL 2023 bike.

The new BH iLynx Trail starts from an aluminum frame which, thanks to the application of the best processing technologies of this material, obtains a similar appearance compared to the carbon version with a competitive weight. It uses hydroformed aluminum tubes, a manufacturing process in which the high pressure liquid allows the metal to be molded into complex shapes, unthinkable until a few years ago and allows you to choose the thickness of each area to obtain the best ratio between weight, rigidity and resistance.

Features equivalent to the iLynx Trail Carbon

As for features, the new BH iLynx Trail shares all the strengths with the carbon fiber version, including the effective Split Pivot suspension system, with 150mm of travel.

The frame integrates a SRAM UDH derailleur hanger, a BlockLock steering lock from Acros and offers fully internal wiring, features that are no longer only available on high-end carbon models. The model also employs a Super Boost axle, which improves the wheel arch and the stiffness of the rear wheel.

The geometry follows that of the carbon models. Compact chainstays of just 451mm were achieved and a 66º steering angle was chosen in combination with a reach of 453mm (in the MD size). Authentic MTB numbers.

2EXMAG motor and 540 Wh battery with provision for an additional battery

The engine is the same used by the BH iLynx Trail Carbon. The new 2EXMAG is ideal for giving life to light e-bikes thanks to the weight of 2.1 kg. However, the lightness does not limit the power, which reaches an assistance level of up to 300%. The engine boasts 250W of power and 65Nm of maximum torque. Thanks to its compact design, it has a reduced Q-Factor, ideal for guaranteeing a natural and efficient pedaling position. Also, when the assistance is turned off, the motor creates no resistance to pedaling.

The 540 Wh battery is fully integrated into the frame. The bicycle is prepared for the installation of the additional Xpro battery, which increases the capacity to 720 Wh, is characterized by extreme simplicity of assembly thanks to the Plug & Ride system and allows you to reach 175 km of autonomy.

The BH iLynx Trail is available in sizes from SM to XL and in three different configurations, with prices starting from € 5,099.
