1. The Delta Steerer System: Integration vs. Reliability

The most significant innovation of the new EVO is the triangular-shaped steerer tube ("Delta"), which allows for internal cable routing without increasing the frontal surface area.

  • Cable Wear: Some mechanics report abnormal friction of the hydraulic hoses against the steerer tube if the routing is not executed with millimetric precision. Over time, this can lead to the removal of the cables' protective coating or slight "rubbing" noises during slow-speed steering maneuvers.
  • Headset Creaking: The non-circular shape requires millimetric precision of the spacers and the compression cap. If dirt or sweat enters the system, it tends to become noisy, requiring much more frequent cleaning compared to a traditional system.
