Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 test review Build quality

The Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 has a good overall build quality, the frame is well made, the availability of sizes is not high, but in line with direct competitors.

While not an absolute cheap bike, the value for money is very good and with around 2850 euros you can take home a racing bike weighing around 8.6kg.

The only flaw is the weight, actually not contained, but in line with other bikes with entry level electronic groupsets and also with a higher cost.

Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 test review Frame

The Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 frame is a good product, well made.

The weight of the frame is not very high.

The weight-to-price ratio remains favorable and competitive against many direct competitors who do no better.

The value for money is valid, always if you are looking for a racing bike with an electronic groupset

Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 test review Assemblies

The assembly is valid, basic but of quality.

The Sram Rival AXS electronic group is used, a valid product, not light, but more than good.

The overall build quality is good, better than competitors at the same list price.

Then we saved on some non-lightweight components, which is why the final weight exceeds 8kg.

Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 test review Comfort

While not adopting particular technical solutions, the ride comfort is good and not far from the best racing bicycles on paper.

Long distances are therefore feasible.

One of the most comfortable racing bikes, with a very good final result exceeding expectations and excellent in relation to its list price.

Possible improvements include a more comfortable saddle and a carbon fiber seat post.

On the other hand, the possibility of adopting 35mm tires instead of the standard 28mm ones is excellent.

Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 test review guide

The Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 is a very safe, stable, easy to ride, intuitive racing bike.

Perfectly stable and safe going downhill at high speeds.

Braking is very good.

Perfectly stable and precise on stretches of damaged asphalt.

Insensitive to lateral winds and very easy to drive on long straight stretches exposed to the wind.

Equally pleasant to drive on sections of road full of curves.

A very easy and safe racing bike to ride.

Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 test review Performance

The Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 is undoubtedly a bike with good overall performance, competitive and at ease on any route, a shame about the weight that slows it down on the most difficult climbs.

It doesn't have a weak point, it goes well everywhere, with its limits, which refer to a weight that is certainly not contained in absolute terms.

It's also good uphill, but above all it's very competitive on the flats and hills, then downhill.

It remains less successful only on really difficult climbs, where weight is still a limit.

Equally excellent are the performance on stretches of very damaged asphalt, you run fast, safe and with good ride comfort.

Ultimately it has only a few grams too much, at least 1 kg, otherwise it would be perfect.

In its price range and with a similar technical equipment it has no rivals.

Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 test review Pros and cons

The Decathlon Van Rysel NCR CF Rival AXS 2024 has proven to be a competitive, comfortable and good performing road bike.

An all-round racing bike, versatile and competitive on any route.

It has no real flaws, perhaps it could be assembled even better and be lighter, but it has an excellent value for money.

In the racing bike category with entry level electronic groupsets, it is perhaps the best purchase to make.

Then there may be better alternatives, but either you give up the electronic group or you increase your budget.
