We respond to a reader who asks us for information on a possible Sram Apex 12v group.

Now released from Eurobike, in the immediate future the SRAM Road, Gravel and MTB 2023 range is already all presented.

There are still some innovations that have been seen in the photos, such as the new e-bike engine.

The arrival of the new Shimano Cues Di2 and 105 Di2 group will force Sram to review the Apex project, which has been at a standstill for some time.

Not in the first months of 2023, but in the course of 2023 and perhaps at the next Eurobike 2023 a new Sram Gravel Apex 12v AXS 2024 group could be presented.

We don't think it can come sooner.

Assuming you do, but if Sram didn't upgrade its Sram Apex groupset it would lag behind Shimano.

Will Sram stand still? We do not believe, but still there are still 12 months to a possible presentation and things can change ...

In our opinion, however, the evolution of the Sram Apex 2024 group cannot be separated from the transition to 12v and then to the AXS electronic groupset, what the market is asking today.

Conclusions? Before a year, a year and a half, it will be difficult to buy a bicycle with a new Sram Apex 12v groupset, if then Sram presented the group only in electronic version, in our opinion, the price would rise quite evidently and it would be economical. Only in comparison with other AXS groups.
