The new Specialized Diverge STR 2023 is the natural evolution of the previous Diverge, anticipating what will be the future of many gravel bikes: a full suspension frame.

It is clear that each Brand will find its technical solution, but essentially all will refer to the Specialized solution, which is nothing new, but a simple system that exploits the elasticity of carbon fiber.

Of course, marketing makes everything seem innovative, but no one invents anything and Specialized's solution is nothing really new, at least from a purely technical point of view.

The rest of the bicycle is well made, but the weights remain high, the top range of almost 9Kg for a price of 15 thousand euros is "crazy".

It is clear that the "full suspension system" aggravates the weight of the bicycle, not like a full mtb, but it is not a value to be neglected.

If nothing else, the Specialized gravel bike is truly at the top of the market.

More oriented to the off road, than to a real road / off-road use.

A trend of gravel bikes, increasingly oriented towards being mtb with 28 "wheels.

At this point a doubt could also arise: but a nice 29er mtb? Won't it be more effective?

Without any doubt ...

But the new Specialized follows the market trend, what the customer wants, also willing to spend large sums, because with 7500 Euros you can take home an entry-level.

In this the gravel world is unique, expensive bikes that go and do the same things as a cheap mtb ...

But it is clear that stopping at the bar with this Specialized Diverge STR is another story ...

A great bike, technically advanced, maybe two years ahead of the competitors, excellent and effective, as heavy as you want and as expensive as you want, but today it has immediately become a point of reference.

What then do you do the same things with much cheaper bikes needless to say ...
