Shimano continues to file patents for its road and mtb groupsets.

The latest in chronological order refers to a new Di2 rear derailleur.

A shifter that could be used for both a future Ultegra Di2 groupset, but also a future Shimano Dura Ace Di2 groupset.

Many, however, argue that Shimano in 2024 could present the new Shimano XTR di2 2024 mtb groupset.

At the moment, the characteristics of the new XTR Di2 2024 gearbox are not fully known.

From the drawing we note a double spring, which, according to some, would allow the gearbox to have greater precision, greater speed and greater stability of the cage.

The new XTR Di2 2024 gearbox, therefore, could be faster and more precise than the current one, especially in the presence of strong blows that come from the chain pull and during the derailing phases, both front and rear.

This new gearbox, then, would be more effective in conjunction with the electric motors of the e-MTBs.

At the moment there is no other information.

The patent has been filed, if the new Shimano XTR Di2 2024 mtb group arrives we could see it at Eurobike 2023, not before.
