Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026: Test Ride Review, Pros, Cons, Issues, Opinions, Everything You Need to Know (Realistically)

Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 Test Ride Review: Build Quality

The Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 is an impeccably crafted bicycle. While it is expensive, from a quality standpoint, there are no notable shortcomings.

No significant differences are observed when comparing its construction quality to the more costly Pinarello F 2026 models. Following Pinarello tradition, the wide availability of sizes is a positive feature and superior to much of the competition.

The range of build specifications is good, and the components used are of high quality. The price-to-quality ratio is acceptable; the bike is costly but also exceptionally well-made. The anticipated strong resale value on the used market is also a factor to consider.

Its key drawbacks are the overall weight and the price.

Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 Test Ride Review: Frame

The frame of the Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 is of excellent quality.

The extensive range of available sizes makes it almost impossible for a rider not to find the perfect fit—it's nearly a custom frame, which is a significant advantage.

In this specific version, the weight is 8.9 kg, which is not light, for a price of approximately €3,400, which is not economical. However, some competitors do not offer a better weight-to-price ratio in this segment.

Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 Test Ride Review: Assembly

Assembled with the Shimano 105 groupset, nothing is left to chance. The bicycle is aesthetically appealing, well-assembled, and features high-quality components. It is unfortunate that this overall quality does not translate into a genuinely competitive weight.

Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 Test Ride Review: Comfort

One of the standout aspects of the Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 is its ride comfort. For a dedicated race bike, it is highly comfortable—not a true endurance bike, but very close. Even on poor road surfaces, the comfort level remains commendable. This excellent result distinguishes the bicycle from the Dogma F.

Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 Test Ride Review: Handling

The Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 embodies the classic Pinarello handling philosophy: it feels like a motorcycle with pedals.

It is precise, secure, stable, intuitive, and easy to ride. Notably, it is even more stable and secure at high speeds and on rough terrain. It proves easy to handle on hilly, curvy routes and maintains control on broken asphalt sections.

It is faultless at very high speeds, even on deteriorated asphalt, where it remains an exceptionally secure road bike. Stability and control under braking are excellent. It is impossible to find a flaw in its performance on steep and challenging descents. The frame provides great stability, easy handling, and confidence at high speeds.

In terms of handling, it is fundamentally identical to other Pinarello F models; in fact, this version feels even more secure, stable, and precise on rough road surfaces.

Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 Test Ride Review: Performance

The weight can be considered its weakest link. While it is true that similar competitors have comparable weights, the 8.9 kg is noticeable on climbs, despite the frame being very stiff and efficiently transmitting power to the rear wheel.

However, it should be noted that its weight is in line with other road bikes in the same category. Therefore, while there may be slightly faster climbing bikes, the overall performance remains absolutely competitive. Even on climbs, leveraging the frame's rigidity can allow riders to outperform even more highly rated road bikes.

Ultimately, it remains a road bike for powerful athletes who can effectively utilize the stiffness of its chassis. The excellent frame rigidity and good aerodynamics ensure competitive performance on flats and rolling hills, good performance on climbs, and outstanding performance on descents, thanks to its stability and security. Overall, it is an excellent all-around road bike, perhaps only slightly penalized on the steepest climbs. Furthermore, its good ride comfort allows it to be highly competitive over very long distances.

Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 Test Ride Review: Pros and Cons

The Pinarello F1 Shimano 105 2026 effectively completes the F-Series 2026 lineup. Slightly heavier but equally well-built, it is the most affordable option in the F range.

It is a high-quality road bike that is secure, stable, comfortable, and easy to handle. It is a little too heavy and quite expensive, although it is the least costly Dogma-derived model. However, its price is in line with competitors that are often less refined, offer fewer size options, have less frame rigidity, and are less comfortable.

While it may not be the ultimate best road bike overall, it has many advantages in its favor. It is unlikely to convert riders who are not already Pinarello enthusiasts, but it is certainly a valid alternative to the other Pinarello F models and an excellent high-end road bike.
