All new Ibis Ripmo AF 2025 2026: Advanced Aluminum Trail Performance

Ibis has introduced aluminum versions of its latest carbon fiber Ripmo trail bikes. These AF (aluminum-framed) models incorporate the same travel, geometry, features, and aesthetic design as their carbon counterparts, offering a more accessible price point. The updates previously applied to the carbon Ripmo models, including a straighter top tube, revised geometry, in-frame storage, and mixed-wheel compatibility, are now integrated into the aluminum-framed versions, providing consistent performance at a lower cost.

Ibis Ripmo AF Technical Specifications

The new Ripmo AF features a straight top tube, departing from the previous curved design. It maintains 150mm of DW-link rear suspension travel, complemented by a 160mm front fork. The model is available in five frame sizes (S-XL), with size-specific componentry. Small and Medium frames are configured with a dedicated mixed-wheel setup (29-inch front, 27.5-inch rear), while Extra-Medium, Large, and XL frames are equipped with 29-inch wheels. A flip chip located in the lower shock mount enables riders to convert the larger sizes to a 27.5-inch rear wheel configuration.

The Ripmo AF incorporates the Ibis STOW (Snacks, Tools, or Whatever) in-frame storage compartment, supplied with two dedicated bags for tools and other items. The frame features standard internal cable routing with updated cable ports, along with molded rubber protection on the chainstay and downtube. Geometrically, the Ripmo AF mirrors the carbon Ripmo, maintaining its established capability and versatility.
