New E-BIKE PIVOT Shuttle SL/AM eMTB 2025 2025 PHOTO PRICE VERSIONS TECHNICAL DATA PERFORMANCE EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

The all-new Shuttle SL/AM electric mountain bike combines lightweight performance with all-mountain travel, filling a major gap in the e-MTB market.

Pivot introduces its latest electric mountain bike, the Shuttle SL/AM, a model that fits strategically between the current Pivot Shuttle SL and Pivot Shuttle AM. This innovative Pivot e-MTB inherits the lightweight feel of its shorter-travel sibling, the Shuttle SL, while replicating the travel and geometry of its full-powered sibling, the Shuttle AM.

It’s as if the two models have created a perfect “hybrid,” which Pivot has named the Shuttle SL/AM. Equipped with the lightweight Bosch SX motor and a 400Wh internal battery, the Shuttle SL/AM complete models start at just under 18kg, making it one of the most attractive lightweight e-MTBs on the market.

Pivot Shuttle SL/AM: The Lightweight eMTB That Doesn't Look Like an E-Bike

At first glance, the Shuttle SL/AM looks like an excellent addition to the Pivot range, filling the gap for riders looking for a lighter e-MTB with more travel and capability than the previous Shuttle SL. Its sleek design and clean lines make it look almost like a traditional mountain bike, a big aesthetic bonus for many riders.

The new Shuttle SL/AM looks like a true copy of the full-powered Shuttle AM. We say "fake copy" because, like the rest of the Pivot range, it's only available with a carbon fibre frame. That also means 150mm of rear travel paired with a 160mm fork, and it features Pivot’s renowned DW4 rear suspension platform for excellent performance and control.

Pivot Shuttle SL/AM Tech Details: Geometry and Wheels

Pivot continues to support the Super Boost standard, with a 157mm rear wheelbase. The company says that Super Boost “substantially increases wheel stiffness, which is a huge advantage on e-bikes.” This feature is common across all of Pivot’s MTB models, although the majority of the industry still uses the Boost standard.

All sizes of the Shuttle SL/AM come with 29-inch wheels front and rear, except for the XS, which is a dedicated mullet (29-inch front, 27.5-inch rear). The introduction of the XS size adds a fifth size option, expanding the Shuttle SL/AM’s fit range for riders from 5’10” to 6’10”.

Adjustable Geometry of the Shuttle SL/AM: Versatility on Every Trail

Geometry-wise, the Shuttle SL/AM is surprisingly similar to the Shuttle AM. This includes a slack 64.5° head tube angle (in the high position), a relatively steep 76.9° effective seat tube angle (in the high position), and 444mm chainstays across all sizes. Reach ranges from 425mm (XS) to 500mm (XL), ensuring every rider can find the perfect fit.

The integrated flip chip allows the head tube and seat tube angles to be varied by 0.4 degrees and the bottom bracket to be raised/lowered by 5mm between the “low” and “high” settings. The flip chip can also be used to compensate for geometry changes if you choose to run a mixed-wheel setup.

The frames feature all the usual premium features, such as internal cable routing and integrated chain guard and down tube protectors. It looks like all sizes will accommodate a full-size water bottle (or range extender) inside the front triangle, with an additional mounting point for tools or accessories under the top tube.

Pivot Shuttle SL/AM’s Bosch SX Motor and Power: The Right Balance

While the Shuttle SL/AM shares the “SL” name with its shorter-travel sibling, the two bikes have different motor systems. Unlike the Fazua-equipped Shuttle SL (450W, 60Nm), the new Shuttle SL/AM features the powerful yet still lightweight Bosch Performance Line SX motor. The Bosch SX delivers up to 600W of peak power with 55Nm of torque.

With the higher peak power of the Bosch SX motor, Pivot even calls it “full throttle power.” However, it has significantly less torque than full-power motors like the DJI Avinox, Specialized 3.1, Bosch CX, or even the lightweight Fazua in the previous Shuttle SL. That said, the Bosch SX motor still provides a noticeable increase in pedaling effort, especially with the SL/AM’s lighter weight. It’s safe to assume that many riders looking for a lightweight e-bike aren’t looking for the full-power experience anyway.

This motor system includes Bosch handlebar-mounted controls and

a display integrated into the top tube. It also allows for the Bosch x Pivot Flow app, which allows riders to adjust assist modes, track service intervals, or monitor battery life.

Pivot Shuttle SL/AM Range: Options for Every Adventure

Batteries are among the heaviest components on an e-bike, so it’s no surprise that the Shuttle SL/AM features a modest 400Wh internal battery to keep weight down. The battery is housed inside the relatively thin down tube and can’t be easily removed for quick swaps or charging. Access to the battery requires removing the motor.

Fortunately, the SL/AM is compatible with the Bosch PowerMore 250Wh range extender (an additional $550), allowing for up to 650Wh of range for longer rides while still being a lighter e-bike for everyday use. The range extender has a claimed weight of around 1.5 kg.

Pivot Shuttle SL/AM: Prices and Specs for the Italian Market

Pivot bikes aren't exactly known for their affordability, and that trend continues with the Shuttle SL/AM. The entry price is around €7,400 at current exchange rates for the Ride Eagle 70/90 spec, and the range tops out at around €11,350 for the top-of-the-line Team XX Eagle Transmission spec. All specs share the same frame, Bosch SX motor, and 400 Wh internal battery.

It's important to note that the Pro and Team specs come with Fox Factory Float X shocks (XS frames come with inline Factory Floats for space reasons), and Pivot offers a Live Valve NEO shock upgrade. Ride specs come with inline Fox Performance Float shocks.
