3. Cockpit Integration and Maintenance

The new Roval Rapide integrated handlebar is an aerodynamic masterpiece, but it presents significant challenges:

  • Cables and Headset: Internal cable routing through the upper headset bearing makes routine maintenance a logistical nightmare. Replacing a bearing rusted by sweat or rain often requires disconnecting hydraulic lines and a subsequent full brake bleed.
  • Cable Noise: If not perfectly positioned inside the head tube, the hydraulic hoses can strike the internal carbon walls ("cable rattle"), generating sharp noises on rough roads.
