Ridley launches a super light mountain bike for hardtail purists

Agile, but safe. Super light but very efficient power transfer and sharp maneuverability. This is, in a nutshell, the Probe RS, Ridley's brand new XC hardtail mountain bike. It's the perfect partner for hardtail purists who like to push boundaries and push them.

This hardtail mountain bike is the first in a series with an EU-made carbon fiber frame.

The Probe RS features our Advanced Position Geometry (AGP). This means that the geometry is fully adapted to the intended use of the bicycle and terrain. In this case, Ridley carefully designed the Probe RS's geometry to tackle steep, technical climbs and for safe handling at high speeds. This geometry consists of a steep seat angle combined with a longer main tube and head tube angle. slower, which results in an agile but safe bike. The steep seating angle puts the rider above the bottom bottom bracket. In this way the Probe RS becomes a real climbing bike, even in the steepest and most technical climbs. The combination of the longer main tube and slower head angle results in a long front center. Combined with the low BB, this makes the bike very good at high speeds and capable of doing more than is expected of an XC hardtail.

The Probe RS features a 100mm travel fork, but is designed for 100mm and 120mm travel forks. Riders who appreciate the purity of a high-performance hardtail, but who like steep, more technical terrain can size the frame using a shorter stem.

To accommodate for safe and responsive handling, the frame is prepared for the seat post. By adding a dropper post, you can harness the full potential of the APG at speeds that bring the Probe RS to life. under the down tube. This makes it particularly suitable for longer journeys.

The frame uses a universal derailleur hanger (UDH) and is equipped with flat-mount brakes, a BB92 and integrated headphones. To minimize system weight, the Probe RS features a 34.9mm external clamp to hold the 31.6mm seat post in place.
