2024 Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy ebike off road test review everything you need to know
2024 Ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy off road test review Build quality
The Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy 2024 has a relatively high cost, around 5 thousand euros, but constitutes the entry level of the Turbo Levo range.
The high price is partly justified by its construction quality and technology, even in this version with aluminum frame.
The availability of sizes is excellent, as is the 700wh battery.
The Specialized engine is also very good.
The weight is in line with the general characteristics of the ebike, approximately 23.8kg.
The general build quality is therefore very good, but the price remains slightly high, in objective terms.
However, the competitors aren't doing much better...
2024 Ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy off road test review Frame
The frame of the Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy 2024 is a small work of art, very well made, with modern geometries, a quality of construction truly at the top of the category.
The e-bike is expensive but at least everything is well made and the frame is no different.
For us the real plus is the abundant number of sizes, there are no sacrifices, everyone has their own frame, even customized in terms of components and suspensions.
Motor and integrated battery are classic Specialized products, well made, powerful, with good autonomy and good reliability.
The frame, therefore, is at the top of the aluminum frames and is better than many carbon fiber frames.
2024 Ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy off road test review Assemblies
The range of assemblies of the Specialized Turbo Levo is wide and the Alloy version is available in two assemblies, the best one is the Comp, which has a "basic" assembly, but still of good quality, then the model under test which is the Turbo Levo cheaper.
The quality/price ratio remains within sufficiency, but nothing that is really needed is missing.
Everything is well made, not very light, but with e-bikes the weight takes a back seat.
2024 Ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy off road test review Comfort
The Specialized Turbo Levo Alloy 2024 with 150/160mm suspension comfort is certainly high, it's impossible to expect more.
That said, ride comfort is excellent.
2024 Ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy off road test Guide
The Specialized Turbo Levo Alloy 2024 is not a light e-mtb, but no e-mtb is pleasant to pedal without the thrust of the electric motor.
In fact, the dynamic behavior highlights excellent stability and great ease of driving.
The balance of the frame allows you to climb even technically difficult routes with extreme ease, with intuitive and easy control of the mountain bike.
Weight aside, which you quickly get used to, there are no particular differences with the lighter and more expensive Turbo Levo e-bike models.
Even compared to the muscular version, the behavior is not that different, in fact an untrained athlete will find the e-mtb much easier and more fun to ride.
This is because you can concentrate more on driving.
Excellent traction on climbs and where there is little grip.
Excellent stability and safety on descents, where performance is truly excellent in absolute terms.
Easy to drive on the flats, where ride comfort and good general performance are appreciated.
Excellent braking and good suspension.
An e-mtb suitable for any route, excellent on downhills, but valid on flats and uphills.
The chassis is really excellent, easy to handle but without being nervous and with unpredictable reactions.
An easy e-mtb for the novice, but also with excellent potential for the more experienced biker.
2024 Ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy off road test Performance
The general performance of the Specialized Turbo Levo Alloy 2024 is very high, only partly limited by the overall weight of the bicycle.
But if we make a comparison with the top of the range versions, it is certainly not worth spending double the money to get little more.
Be careful not to overdo it with the thrust of the electric motor, the autonomy is good, but if you overdo it you risk easily being left stranded.
The autonomy is still valid and allows you to exceed 100km quite easily.
Thinking about pedaling without the help of the electric motor is something to do only in an emergency.
The best thing is to always have a minimum amount of push, so as to make the bicycle light and easy.
Using maximum engine thrust only for the sections where you want to be really fast.
Overall it is a competitive ebike in terms of performance.
In absolute terms, however, it is very good on downhills and slightly heavy on uphills and on the flats.
However, the lighter opponents are not faster, they may just have a little more autonomy because they use the bike less electric king and just more thrust in the first pedal stroke.
Minimal and hardly justifiable differences given the prices.
2024 Ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy off road test review Pros and cons
The Specialized Turbo Levo Alloy 2024 proves to be a very valid ebike with good overall quality.
It has an excellent frame, available in many sizes and good assembly.
The motor and battery are equally good.
It's not cheap and it's not very light.
A beautiful ebike, concrete, effective and efficient.
It also holds its value well on the used market and proves superior to many other ebikes with carbon fiber frames.
So expensive, but valid e-bike.
Among the Specialized Turno Levo Alloy versions, it is the one that convinced us the most, but also compared to the other carbon versions, which cost much more, but really offer little more.
