2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike test review Build quality
The 2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike has a high price, in all its versions, you pay for the novelty, but also for the many upgrades made compared to the previous model.
The availability of sizes is excellent, as is the new engine, more powerful and with greater torque.
The general build quality is very good, all the proposed versions are well assembled and with quality products.
The weight of about 17.7 kg is in line with its assembly and price.
2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebiketest review Frame
The frame of the 2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike is very well done, with modern, updated geometries and a very high quality of construction.
It is not a cheap e-bike but the frame is well made and also the real plus is the abundant number of sizes, there are no sacrifices, everyone has their own right frame.
The rear suspension is also new.
Motor and integrated battery are the classic Specialized products, well made, powerful, with good autonomy and good reliability.
Too bad that the battery and integrated instrumentation are not easy to replace and maintain.
Worth noting is the presence of the external battery which extends the range and which is standard in the more expensive S-Works SL and LTD version.
2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike test review Assemblies
All the assemblies of the 2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike are of excellent quality and aligned with each other.
Clearly there is a lot of difference between the "basic" version and the top of the range, but the 7900 euro version already offers everything a biker needs.
The value for money remains within the sufficiency, but, as mentioned, the novelty effect also pays off.
These are not cheap prices, but the good valuation of Specialized ebikes on the second-hand market should also be considered.
However, the high cost of spare parts and the complexity of maintenance should be noted.
It's not a free ebike, but the 2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike still has a fair price.
2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike test review Comfort
With 150/160mm suspension, comfort is certainly high, it's impossible to ask for more.
Having said that, the ride comfort is excellent and there are no particular differences compared to the previous model.
2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike test review Guide
The 2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike maintains that reassuring behavior and easy and intuitive driving typical of the Specialized Turbo Levo.
The dynamic behavior highlights excellent stability and ease of driving.
The balance of the frame allows you to climb even technically difficult routes with extreme ease, with intuitive and easy control of the mtb.
It's hard to say if the new rear suspension works better than the old one, traction is still excellent, but it was in the past too.
It seems, perhaps, to work better on small holes and be more rigorous on jumps.
Excellent traction uphill and where there is little grip.
Excellent stability and safety downhill, where performance is really excellent in absolute terms.
Easy to drive on the plains, where ride comfort and good overall performance are appreciated.
Excellent braking and suspension.
An e-mtb suitable for any route, excellent downhill, but valid on the plains and uphill.
The new chassis is excellent, manageable but without being nervous and with unpredictable reactions.
An easy e-mtb for the novice, but also with excellent potential for the more expert biker.
It was in the past too, but now there's more handling with the same stability, more safety at speed.
Small differences, such as the greater ability to climb quickly.
2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike test review Performance
The general performance of the 2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike is very high, one of the aspects where the improvement compared to the previous model is most tangible.
The new engine is more powerful, has more torque and more thrust.
It is a pity that the range has remained substantially unchanged, between 50 and over 100 km depending on the use of the engine.
As always, pedaling without the thrust of the electric motor is not very pleasant.
The new engine has a very gradual and discreet intervention, it never gives the sudden hit of other competitors, making pedaling very fluid.
Its optimal intervention takes place at about 80 pedal strokes per minute, quite a few for those who are not trained.
In reality, its thrust is still valid even going slower.
Its noise is not high.
Thinking of pedaling without the help of the electric motor is still something to
only do in an emergency.
The best thing is to always have a minimum of thrust, so as to make the bicycle light and easy.
The possibility of programming the motor intervention force is useful.
Using the maximum thrust of the engine only for the sections where you want to be really fast.
Overall it is a very good, expensive, but high performance ebike.
It goes strong everywhere, more than the previous version.
2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike test review Pros and cons
The 2024 Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL ebike proves to be an excellent evolution of the previous ebike, compared to which it is better in everything.
It has a great frame, available in many sizes and very well made.
The motor and battery are just as good.
It's not cheap and it's not cheap to maintain.
It also holds the value on the used market well (at least in the past, but it will certainly be the same for this version) and proves to be superior to many other similar ebikes.
Expensive, but great e-bike.
