2024 Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 test review Build quality

The Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 has excellent overall construction quality, as per Ridley tradition.

It can be assembled and customized with different groups, wheels and components, with a base price of just over 3 thousand euros, in the simplest Shimano 105 veion, while for the refined Classified hub and SHimano GRX electronic group it starts at just over 6 thousand euros .

Prices that may seem high, but which allow you to have a peonalized paint finish at the top of the market, peonalized assembly, good availability of sizes, and excellent general quality.

Please note that no decals are used, everything is hand painted.

The quality of the components used is very good, with the exclusive Classidied hub, which allows you to have the convenience of a 2x transmission, with the simplicity of a 1x chainring.

The assembly in the photo weighs approximately 8.0kg.

Although it is not a cheap bike, with Classified hub, carbon rims and electronic groupset we are over 7 thousand euros, the value for money of the Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 is more than good.

Nobody gives anything away, but the quality and reliability of Ridley bicycles are a point of reference for everyone, highly appreciated in Belgium, perhaps less so in Italy.

Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 test test review Frame

The Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 frame is an excellent product, well made, with a wide availability of sizes and good general construction quality.

The weight of the frame is not high, allowing for an 8.0 kg racing bicycle, which is certainly not little, but not at all high if you consider that the GRX Di2 group was used and the entire frame is designed to also tackle routes not asphalted.

It is an "all road" racing bike of excellent quality, perhaps expensive with this assembly, but also unique in many details, such as the Classified hub, such as the painting, the possibility of customization, the assembly with attention to the smallest details.

In the end, if you analyze all the features, it costs less than other more industrial bikes and is produced in large standard series, without any possibility of customization.

2024 Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 test review Assemblies

The range of assemblies is very complete, with very good construction and assembly quality in each veion.

Prices are for all budgets, with the basic veion having a very competitive price for its general quality, but in general the value for money is competitive even in the more expensive veions.

As always, the difference in performance between the entry level of the range and the top of the range is notable, but from an aesthetic and qualitative point of view there are no differences, the functionality remains the same, the weight drops and therefore the performance increases, especially uphill .

But the fun and pleasure of pedaling are the same.

2024 Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 test review Comfort

The Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 is halfway between a gravel and a racing bike.

It is considered gravel light, but perhaps it is enough to say an endurance bike that is not afraid of dirt roads.

In fact, it is not an uncomfortable bicycle at all and there are no negative differences with other gravel bicycles.

Among endurance and gravel bikes, it has excellent ride comfort, achieved without particular technical sophistication, which is expensive and sometimes easy to break.

The seat post's ability to absorb shocks and vibrations is good, the saddle supplied is excellent, the integrated handlebar is good.

Overall, the ride comfort of the Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 is excellent and allows it to be considered one of the best bikes in the category.

Long journeys on damaged roads are therefore feasible, but it also performs well on dirt roads.

2024 Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 test review Guide

The Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 has very balanced geometries, aimed at maximum safety, stability and ease of riding.

The Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 is one of those bikes that always feels like you have pedaled, because it is stable, easy to ride, intuitive, and always easy to control even when riding on dirt roads.

On fast and long descents it travels on one track, with reassuring stability, it is not put into crisis even on stretches of ruined asphalt and continues to run safe and precise even on descents on unpaved roads.

Stability during braking is also excellent, with bike control simple, easy, intuitive, almost exemplary.

Perfectly stable and precise, on coues full of curves, on long mountain descents it is competitive even with much more reliable racing bikes.

Not very sensitive to side winds and very easy to drive on long straights exposed to the wind.

Perhaps it is not a very easy to handle bicycle, but it pays off with an enviable riding safety, which allows even the less experienced to be fast downhill or on off-road sections.

It is not a pure gravel bike, it is not a mountain bike with 28-inch wheels, it is not a cyclocross bike, but it is equally valid on off-road routes, with hard, compact and fast surfaces: dirt or country roads, its ideal terrain, where he runs fast and with very few rivals.

Ultimately, a bicycle that is easy to ride, safe, all-round, satisfies the expert and fast cyclist, as well as the simple tourist who doesn't stop when the asphalt runs out.

2024 Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 test review Performance

The new frame of the Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 is undoubtedly a high performance product that combines rigidity, ride comfort and not excessive weight.

A very fast racing bike on flats and hills because the weight is not high, while it defends itself well on the most difficult climbs.

This is in comparison to "pure" racing bikes because among Endurance, Gravel and All Road bikes it is among the fastest ever, thanks to its low weight for the category and excellent frame rigidity.

We would like to point out the excellent functioning of the Classified hub, which allows you to have a 2x transmission with the simplicity and reliability of a 1x transmission.

Excellent off-road, in rain or mud, the Classified hub improves the reliability of the bicycle and its overall performance, without giving up anything (it costs just a little more... but it's worth the extra money it costs ...).

A bike, with the assembly in the photo, even exaggerated for the simple enthusiast, but which makes the bike even more competitive both on road and off-road, enhancing its performance and making the bicycle even more "All roud" or rather 360 degrees, great for touring, adventure or racing.

Ultimately the Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 is a true 360 degree racing bike, the limit is in its owner's head.

This is no small feature.

2024 Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 test review Pros and cons

The Ridley Grifn Classified Shimano GRX Di2 2024 has proven to be a top all-round bike on the market, very competitive, comfortable and truly an all-round racing bike.

It goes well and is competitive on every route, it has no rivals among other bikes of the same level and category.

In many ways it is better than many endurance and gravel bikes.

Downhill and on the plains it has very few rivals, it holds its own on hills and uphills.

It doesn't have a real weak point, as fast as an Endurance bike it can also tackle off-road sections.

It doesn't go as far as some gravel bikes do, but it's excellent on dirt roads and ultimately for 50% asphalt and 50% dirt road use.

It has everything needed to be equipped with mudguards and bags, becoming a valid touring bike.

In the end it has no defects, but it is a bike that is currently unique or almost unique in terms of its type and how it behaves on and off-road.

It's not a bike for everyone, it's not a mass product, but it's a bike for connoisseu, who are few...
