Orbea Orca 2025: The Climbing Bike Gets Lighter with New OQUO Wheels & Integrated Cockpit

Orbea Orca 2025: The Climbing Bike Gets Lighter with New OQUO Wheels & Integrated Cockpit

Introduction:

The Orbea Orca, a favorite climbing bike for enthusiasts and pros alike, has received a significant overhaul just in time for the Tour de France. The latest iteration of the Orca promises even higher performance thanks to a sleek new integrated cockpit, a set of cutting-edge OQUO wheels, and stunning new paint schemes. While its primary focus remains on low weight and efficiency, these updates refine the formula, transforming the already sharp Orca into an even sharper (and better-looking) tool for the mountains.

What's New for the 2025 Orbea Orca

At the heart of the innovations is the front end of the bike: the new OC SH RA10 integrated cockpit. Designed for seamless integration and a clean aesthetic, it's available in a remarkable 11 sizes, ensuring a tailored fit for every rider. Fully internal, UCI compliant, and GPS-ready, it offers a tidy and functional riding experience.

Weighing in at a claimed 313g for the 100/380mm size, this cockpit is light enough for the weight weenies and aero enough to please the watt watchers. Its compact, non-proprietary design integrates harmoniously with the classic silhouette of the Orca, enhancing its pure climbing machine aesthetic.

Wheel Upgrades: Cutting-Edge OQUO Hoops

Significant upgrades also come to the wheels, courtesy of Orbea's in-house brand, OQUO. This new generation of Orca features the latest RP35 LTD, RP50 LTD, and RA57 LTD models, all built around the newly minted Q10 hub.

The RP50 strikes the sweet spot for all-around race duty, offering an excellent balance of lightweight design, aerodynamic shaping, and compliance. For those seeking maximum aero gains and superior power transfer, the deeper-profile RA57 LTD is the ideal choice.

The New OQUO Q10 Hub: Lightweight Precision

The OQUO Q10 hub stands out with its claimed weight of just 104g at the front and 175g at the rear, positioning it among the lightest in its class. It's built with precision-machined internals and top-shelf materials, ensuring day-in, day-out durability and reliability.

Super Light Frame Options: OMX and OMR

For riders who want their bikes to look as fast as they feel, Orbea didn't skimp on the finishes either. The top-tier OMX frame (745g) comes in three all-new colorways, including a slick Spark Silver–Titan Grey Fade and a shimmering Holographic Dynalines option.

The OMR frame (1030g) sees four fresh looks, with standouts like Escape Green Carbon View Matte and Cobalt Blue–Carbon Raw.

At just 6.7kg complete (depending on the build), the new Orca remains a purpose-built climber—ultra-light, ultra-reactive, and unapologetically racy. It's not a do-it-all machine. It's a do-one-thing-really-well machine—and that thing is going uphill fast.

Orbea Orca 2025 Pricing and Models

The new Orbea Orca is available in a variety of builds and component combinations, all arriving with OQUO wheels and hubs. If you're a Shimano fan, you're in luck, as there are three different offerings, ranging from 105 Di2 to Dura Ace Di2, for a full race build. SRAM fans currently have one offering with a full SRAM RED AXS build, mirroring the Shimano Dura Ace component offerings for wheels and auxiliary bits. The top-tier offerings build on the Orbea OMX frame as a canvas, while the mid-tier options utilize the OMR.

The updated Orca is now available through authorized Orbea retailers and at Orbea.
