Two years is a relatively long time in the cycling industry. Groups change, wheel technology changes, even tastes in terms of colors change. And precisely taking these changes into account, Canyon has updated its Speedmax range, dedicated to triathlon, introducing nine new versions of the CFR, CF SLX and CF models.
The Speedmax CFR, the best of the best at the elite level, is designed for podium performance where every second counts, while the more affordable Speedmax CF SLX and CF offer a perfect combination of revolutionary aerodynamic design, integrated storage solutions and high-level power and driving performance, with a choice of components suitable for all financial resources.
The Speedmax CFR has a tradition of winning the most important races in the world. Countless hours of CFD analysis and computer simulation, thousands of miles of wind tunnel testing in collaboration with our aerodynamic partners Swiss Side and suggestions from some of the best triathletes in the world have resulted in an optimal balance of speed and control, integration of components, comfort and fit.
The Speedmax CFR, the best you could wish for, is now equipped with the SRAM Red eTap AXS 1x12 groupset with Quarq power meter and the lightning-fast Zipp 858 NSW wheels.
Alternatively, the lightest Speedmax CFR in the range features Shimano Dura-Ace 2x12-speed Di2 and Rotor Aldhu 24 crankset with in-spider power meter and DT Swiss ARC 1100 Dicut disc brake wheels.
One step lower than the best of the best still offers state-of-the-art drag reduction, sacrificing around 300g of weight for added pocket convenience. The Speedmax CF SLX 8 frame uses a different carbon frame layup, giving you the choice between the Force eTap AXS of
SRAM with Quarq powermeter and Zipp 404/808 Firecrest wheels, or Ultegra Di2 by Shimano with 4iiii power meter and DT Swiss ARC 1400 Dicut wheels. Still using the same frame, the Speedmax CF SLX 7 is equipped with SRAM Rival eTap AXS and Quarq power meter with DT Swiss ARC 1600 Spline disc brake wheels.
Both the Speedmax CFR and the SLX range are equipped with Canyon's CP0019 flat or CP0021 rise aerodynamic handlebar. The Speedmax CF range features a different carbon layup and Canyon's HB0053 base handlebar with external cable routing.
There are three CF models, the Speedmax CF 8 Di2 (2x12) with powermeter 4iiii and DT Swiss ARC 1400 Dicut wheels, the Speedmax CF 7 eTap (2x12) with powermeter Quarq spider and Reynolds AR wheels, and the Speedmax CF 7, supplied with Shimano 105 2x11 mechanical shifters and derailleurs, a 4iiii powermeter and DT Swiss P1800 wheels.
Altogether there are nine new models, all equipped with power meter and disc brakes, and all, apart from the base model Speedmax CF 7, with electronic shifting. Some models in the CF, CF SLX and CFR line also include 650b wheels, which are more suitable for smaller frames.
