New CANYON GRAIL GRAVEL 2026: Rumors, Features, Price, Weight, News, Everything We Know

Introduction:

A video on the social media platform Threads shows Canyon-sponsored athlete Mateu Cavallé riding a new gravel bike, complete with a Canyon-branded suspension fork. Until now, only the Grizl – Canyon’s adventure-oriented bike – has been available with a suspension fork. The Grail – the brand’s gravel racing bike – has not been available with a suspension fork, with a geometry that wasn’t right for a longer fork. The new bike looks more like a Grail – in fact, it doesn’t appear to be a radical departure from the existing bike.

Technical Analysis:

Geometry and Design:
The new bike bears a structural resemblance to the existing Grail model, suggesting a possible evolution rather than a revolution in design.
There is a fully internal cable routing system up front, in contrast to the current Grail design, which runs cables under the stem and into the head tube. This change suggests a potential improvement in aerodynamics, which is crucial for gravel racing, as demonstrated by Canyon's Unbound wins.
Tire and Wheel Compatibility:
The bike is equipped with Zipp 303 XPLR wheels, which feature a considerable width, and 45 mm tires, likely a Goodyear/Zipp collaboration.
Visual evidence indicates increased tire clearance over the current Grail, which has a maximum clearance of 42 mm.
Front Suspension:
The Canyon-branded suspension fork features a rear arch design, reminiscent of DT Swiss' lightweight XC Race forks from 2015.
This design differs from DT Swiss' modern F-series mountain bike forks, which feature a conventional front arch.
The rear arch design has previously been seen on gravel forks, such as the Fox 32 Taper-Cast.
The lack of visible adjusters on the crown suggests that the compression and rebound adjustments are located elsewhere. However, there is speculation that a lockout system, potentially remote or via a simple button, similar to that found on the Cane Creek Invert CS, could be included.
Rumors of a collaboration between DT Swiss and Canyon have been circulating for some time, with previous sightings of prototypes that differed slightly from the current model. These prototypes are speculated to be based on lightweight XC designs from DT Swiss, such as the 2015 OPM ODL fork.
Motivation for developing a proprietary fork:
Canyon’s decision to develop a proprietary suspension fork could be a result of a desire to create a lighter option than existing solutions on the market.
The collaboration with DT Swiss, a company renowned for producing lightweight racing suspension forks, lends credence to this theory.
Canyon's introduction of a lightweight competition fork could spark competition, prompting other manufacturers to develop lighter versions of their products, such as an SL version of the RockShox Rudy Ultimate or a lighter iteration of the Fox 32 Taper-Cast.

Conclusions:

The sighting of the new Canyon gravel bike with a proprietary suspension fork suggests the imminent launch of a new line of gravel competition bikes. It is expected that this new line could be used by sponsored athlete Rosa Klöser to defend her Unbound title.

There is no confirmation of this project at this time, but the hypotheses seem very plausible.
