Cannondale SuperSlice 2026: The new frontier of speed for TT and Triathlon

Cannondale unveils the 2026 SuperSlice: -14% aerodynamic drag, Series 0 carbon fiber, and LAB71 integration. Discover the technical details of the new SystemBar TT cockpit and specifications for the European market.

Cannondale SuperSlice 2026: The evolution of the TT project

The Cannondale SuperSlice 2026 is not merely a cosmetic update, but a complete overhaul of the platform dedicated to races against the clock and triathlons. Developed in collaboration with the WorldTour specialists of EF Pro Cycling, the SuperSlice was conceived with a single objective: reducing drag through the management of laminar airflow.
The 2026 design moves away from compromise solutions to adopt deeper airfoil profiles and a seamless transition between components that eliminates parasitic turbulence, defining what Cannondale calls the "Showcase of Speed."

Build Quality and Materials: LAB71 Standard

The frame construction utilizes Series 0 carbon fiber, the most advanced layup currently available in the Cannondale catalog. This material allows for thin tube walls and low weight despite the increase in aerodynamic surface area.

Construction: Layup optimized for torsional rigidity in the bottom bracket and head tube zones.

Finishing: Extreme precision in bearing seats and contact points, minimizing the need for extraordinary maintenance.

Technical Sustainability: Use of a threaded BSA bottom bracket, a choice that prioritizes ease of service and mechanical solidity over press-fit systems.

Aerodynamics: Technical Data Analysis

Cannondale’s R&D department utilized hundreds of hours of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations and wind-tunnel testing to validate the new shapes.

Efficiency: The 2026 SuperSlice generates 14% less drag than the previous version.

Watt Saving: The calculated energy saving is 10 Watts at 50 km/h, a critical metric for elite-level performance.

Delta Integration: The wedge-shaped steerer system allows cables to disappear completely inside the frame, keeping the head tube extremely narrow to cut through the air more effectively.

The New SystemBar TT Cockpit

A focal point of the 2026 presentation is the SystemBar TT handlebar and extension system. Cannondale recognizes that frame aerodynamics are useless if the athlete cannot maintain an efficient position.

Pad Adjustability: Stack up to 105 mm and Reach up to 120 mm.

Extension Angle: Stepless adjustment from 0 to 30 degrees.

Compatibility: Designed to be compatible with Vision TFE EVO extensions, the preferred choice of WorldTour professionals.

Technical Specifications and 2026 Standards

The SuperSlice 2026 adopts modern standards to ensure maximum compatibility with cutting-edge components:

Tires: Clearance for tires up to 32 mm, allowing for wider sections to improve grip and reduce rolling resistance.

Drivetrain: Exclusively compatible with electronic groupsets (Shimano Di2, SRAM eTap AXS).

Saddle Geometry: The dedicated seatpost allows for 45 mm of fore-aft adjustment, covering seat angles from approximately 74° to 77°.

Versatility: UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) ready and Flat-Mount disc brake attachments.

Target: WorldTour Time Trial and Long Distance Triathlon

While its DNA is deeply rooted in UCI time trials, Cannondale has also optimized the SuperSlice 2026 for Triathlon. Improved stability and the ability to accommodate wider tires make it an ideal choice for the cycling legs of IRONMAN races, where long-distance comfort directly impacts performance in the final run stage.
Availability and Pricing

In the European market, the Cannondale SuperSlice will be available primarily as a frameset in the LAB71 configuration, the brand’s most premium tier.

Estimated Frameset Price: Approximately € 7,000.00 (includes frame, fork, complete cockpit, and seatpost).

Colorways: Official EF Education-EasyPost Team liveries and minimalist LAB71 "Raw Carbon" versions.
