The new Cannondale Scalpel HT 2022 updates the Cannondale XC mtb range, with a completely new frame.
New geometries, new shape of the tubes, new headset, new internal cable routing, new carbon layering.
A lighter, stiffer XC bike, in step with the times, therefore easier and more intuitive to ride.
Good choice of assemblies available, with high prices, but not disproportionate. In the end, the entry model should be brought home with 2500 euro, which is not a little, but it is not a lot for a bike like that either.
Too bad that the Hi-Mod version is available with a single assembly and that the Lefty fork is only available with the Hi-Mod frame.
In the end they are two valid technical solutions, but relegating them to a single top-range model strongly limits their diffusion.
What is certain is that seeing the cheapest model close to the top of the range is a certain sadness. But that's the way it is for all bikes.
Overall it is an excellent xc mtb, with a good value for money.
