2024 Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 road test review Build quality

The Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 2023 2024 is a well-made, expensive racing bike, around 6800 euros, but from a quality point of view it is a valid racing bike.

Those details that make the difference with handcrafted or small-series bikes are missing.

The six sizes available are the minimum you can have, just as the choice of colors is really limited.

The graphics are also simple.

All elements that demonstrate how efforts were made to reduce production costs, even without a real advantage for the customer.

Direct competitors do no better...

The assembly as a whole is good, but the weight stops at around 7.7Kg which isn't a very few, but in line with other competitors.

The weight/price ratio is not very favorable, but in line with other racing bikes.

The value for money is sufficient, the bike is expensive, but also well made.

For us the defects are the overall weight and the price, as well as the fact that the bike is completely anonymous.

2024 Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 road test review Frame

The frame of the Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 2023 2024 is of excellent quality, light, rigid and with good aerodynamics.

We can't explain why the complete bike is quite heavy.

Considering the list price, the color range is really limited.

Nothing can be customized.

In this version the weight is 7.7Kg, not a little, for a price of around 6800 euros, not cheap.

Some competitors, however, do not do better...

2024 Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 road test review Assemblies

Assembled with the Shimano Ultegra Di2 group, the new Cannondale Supersix Evo Gen 4 is a good quality racing bike, with a well-made assembly and equally valid components.

Even if it is an expensive racing bike, there is no denying that it is still well made.

It's a shame that this doesn't translate into a truly competitive weight.

2024 Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 road test review Comfort

Ultimately it is one of the aspects that has remained the same as the previous model.

It's not an uncomfortable racing bike by any means, but it's certainly a far cry from an endurance bike, worth noting is that it's more comfortable than the Hi-Mod frame version.

The ride comfort is valid from a racing bike perspective, similar but not better than other direct competitors.

There are, however, more comfortable racing bikes.

2024 Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 road test review Guide

The Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 2023 2024 does not substantially change the ride of the more expensive Hi-Mod version, although the new carbon certainly changes the responses to the commands given.

A heavier, stiffer, less responsive bike, but more stable and safe at high speeds, compared to the Hi-Mod version, which remains faster, but also more difficult to ride.

It is therefore a safer bike, but less quick to enter corners, more stable on fast roads or on stretches of ruined asphalt.

Ultimately safer and less tiring.

In comparison with some direct competitors, in terms of price and type of chassis, it is quicker to enter corners, faster in rapid changes of direction, perhaps more sensitive and difficult to ride at high speeds.

But they are minimal differences, in a market that is now standardized and without real unique characteristics.

On stretches of ruined asphalt you can feel the rigidity of the chassis and it takes decision and concentration to follow a precise trajectory, but it is easier to control than the Hi-Mod version.

Ridden at an amateur pace, it is a very easy racing bike, but if you push harder, it becomes more difficult to ride.

Excellent braking.

From a racing bike perspective, the geometry is very valid, because it is a fast, easy to handle racing bike, sufficiently stable at high speeds.

On a downhill route full of curves you could go blank, you just need to have courage...

2024 Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 road test review Performance

The weight of the Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 2023 2024 can be considered its weak point.

It is true that other similar competitors have the same weight, but it is also true that its 7.7kg can be felt uphill compared to lighter competitors, even if at the same price the competitors are all aligned, indeed perhaps Cannondale manages to weigh 100 grams less.

It should be noted, however, that the rigidity-to-weight ratio seems to be valid, it has excellent power transmission and therefore allows for more than valid performance.

It is certainly an excellent bike for powerful athletes, who will be able to make the most of its rigidity and aerodynamics.

Maybe it can be in difficulty on climbs

really difficult, but on still rideable and medium-fast climbs it can be a very competitive bike.

So, even if there are racing bikes that are faster uphill, the overall performance is absolutely competitive for its price range.

The excellent rigidity of the frame and the good aerodynamics allow for competitive performance on flats and hills, good uphill and excellent downhill.

An athlete who develops a lot of watts of power will find the Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 2023 2024 excellent.

A simple amateur, perhaps, will only notice the weight and will not take advantage of the aerodynamics or rigidity of the frame.

Overall an excellent racing bike, perhaps only slightly penalized on the toughest climbs.

2024 Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 road test review Pros and cons

The Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 Ultegra Di2 2023 2024 has proven to be a great race bike, but it is clearly an expensive bike too.

Slightly heavy compared to other competitors, it highlights valid aerodynamics and excellent rigidity.

It is not a very comfortable or easy to ride racing bike, but with an expert and trained athlete it manages to express more than excellent performance.

It goes very well on flats and hills, very well on downhills and well on uphills.

It "gives up", at least for an amateur, only on really difficult and tough climbs.

Having said the advantages (stiffness, aerodynamics, general performance) and the defects (weight, price, comfort), we would like to point out that despite being excellent, it goes completely unnoticed...

A nice racing bike, but like all its direct competitors, the price is excessive for what it really offers to a simple amateur.
