New BMC Teammachine SLR 01 2026: Price, Weight, and Full Range Specifications
BMC has unveiled the new Teammachine SLR 01, a significant update to its climbing-oriented road bike. The redesigned model boasts a 16% weight reduction while maintaining the same stiffness values as the previous generation. This achievement is attributed to refined tube profiles and innovative manufacturing techniques.
Weight Optimization and Aerodynamics
The Teammachine SLR 01 was developed with a primary focus on climbing performance. The frameset is now 222 grams lighter, weighing in at 1,173 grams. This weight reduction is a result of optimized tube profiles, a revised carbon layup, and the application of innovative production techniques. Thinner decals and less paint also contribute to the weight savings.
Specifically, the new Teammachine SLR 01 frame is 16% lighter, the seatpost is 27% lighter, and the fork is 8% lighter compared to the previous model. The top-of-the-range version, the Teammachine SLR 01 ONE, claims a weight of 6.6 kg for a size 54 cm, positioning it 100 grams below the UCI weight limit.
Despite its climbing focus, the new Teammachine SLR 01 incorporates aerodynamic solutions derived from the Teammachine R 01, a model optimized for aerodynamic efficiency. BMC utilized Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), wind tunnel testing, and velodrome testing to refine the design. Collaboration with engineers from the Impec Lab and aerodynamic specialists helped minimize aerodynamic drag while preserving the clean, race-focused aesthetic associated with the BMC brand. The ICS Carbon Evo cockpit system, with full internal cable routing, further enhances aerodynamics and the bike's overall appearance.
Geometry and Riding Comfort
The geometry of the new Teammachine SLR 01 is derived from the Teammachine R 01, designed to offer precise handling and intuitive responsiveness. The bicycle is available in six sizes, from 47 cm to 61 cm. This geometry aims to instill confidence on descents and responsiveness in turns.
BMC's Tuned Compliance Concept (TCC) is integrated to improve riding comfort. This is achieved through the carbon layup and a new Aero Shape seatpost that dampens road vibrations without dulling ride feedback. Furthermore, tire clearance has been increased by 2 mm, reaching 32 mm, further improving comfort. All available models come standard with 26 mm Pirelli P Zero Race tires.
