PEGASUS Estremo EVO 12 Lite 2026: Touring E-Bike with Pinion MGU Transmission
Launch of Pinion Motor Gearbox Unit (MGU) Technology
PEGASUS introduces the Estremo EVO 12 Lite model in the E-Touring bike segment, featuring the Pinion Motor Gearbox Unit (MGU). This unit combines an electronically controlled, integrated gear system with a powerful electric motor, aiming to set new standards for durability, shifting comfort, and reduced maintenance in E-bikes.
Key Features of the Estremo EVO 12 Lite
The PEGASUS Estremo EVO 12 Lite is an all-rounder equipped with advanced propulsion. The core is the Pinion MGU, which integrates an optional automatically controlled twelve-speed gearbox with a motor providing 85 Nm of torque and a peak power of 600 Watts. The close coordination between the motor and gearbox ensures smooth, fast, and precise gear changes.
The system is complemented by a large, easily removable 800 Wh battery. The accessible USB-C port allows for charging external devices, such as a smartphone used for navigation. Safety is enhanced by a bright 100-Lux Supernova lighting system.
Componentry and Reduced Maintenance
The use of the Pinion MGU eliminates the need for a wear-prone rear sprocket cluster. Additionally, the bike features a low-maintenance belt drive, which significantly reduces wear and sensitivity to dirt compared to a traditional chain. The MGU itself requires oil changes only every 10,000 kilometers, an ideal feature for frequent riders who prioritize reliability.
The high-quality componentry includes a 100 mm air suspension fork, a Shimano XT braking system, and a comfortable parallelogram suspension seatpost.
Price, Availability, and Alternative Versions
The PEGASUS Estremo EVO 12 Lite is available at a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (UVP) of 5,499 Euros. It is offered in three frame styles (Diamond, Trapez, and Low-step) and two color options (Dark Metallic Black Matt and Kieselgrey). This model is equipped with the nine-speed variant of the Pinion MGU and is also available in all three frame styles.
