Ducati Bikes: A Technical Analysis and Detail of Their 2026 Models

Note: While Ducati Bikes is not officially exhibiting at Eurobike Frankfurt 2025, this is our technical analysis and detail of their projected 2026 models.

1. Evolution of the E-MTB Range: Power, Agility, and Distinctive Design

Ducati continues to heavily focus on e-mountain bikes, transferring the expertise and engineering from their motorcycle division into the world of pedal-assisted two-wheelers. The new models showcase further system integration and refined geometries for an even more dynamic ride.

1.1. Bosch Smart System Motors and 800 Wh Batteries

The core of Ducati's new e-MTBs is the latest generation of the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5. On specific models designed for agility, they feature the new Bosch Performance Line SX. These motors are harmoniously integrated into carbon or alloy frames, ensuring smooth yet decisive power delivery. The partnership with Bosch allows Ducati to fully leverage the capabilities of the Bosch Smart System, offering advanced connectivity and ride mode customization via the eBike Flow app.

Range has been a primary focus: flagship models like the new Ducati MIG-S Limited Edition and the Ducati TK-RR Limited Edition are equipped with 800 Wh batteries, fully integrated into the downtube. This extended capacity ensures long riding sessions, even on challenging trails, reducing range anxiety. Some lighter models offer 625 Wh batteries to balance weight.

1.2. Updated Geometries and Progressive Suspension

The e-MTB frame geometries have been further refined to improve the balance between high-speed stability and agility in technical sections. Slack head tube angles (around 64-65 degrees), steeper seat tube angles (77-78 degrees), and an increased reach characterize the new models, positioning the rider in a dominant stance and promoting control on descents.

Suspension systems are of the highest quality, with configurations varying depending on the discipline (trail, enduro). The Ducati TK-RR Limited Edition, an aggressive e-enduro, features Öhlins suspension (RXF38 M.2 fork and TTX22M.2 Coil shock), offering 180mm of front travel and 170mm rear, with a level of adjustment and performance derived from racing. The Ducati MIG-S Limited Edition (all-mountain/trail) relies on Fox Factory Series (Fox 36 Float Factory and Fox Float X Factory) with slightly less travel but still high performance.

2. Expansion into the E-Road and E-Gravel Segment: Performance and Style

Ducati has shown increasing commitment to the e-road and e-gravel bike sectors, applying its focus on performance and design to these segments as well.

2.1. Ducati Futa EVO: The Lightweight and Fast E-Road

The Ducati Futa EVO is the newly introduced e-road, a model that embodies the concept of a "pedal-assisted bike with a non-electric feel." It uses an incredibly lightweight carbon frame and integrates an extremely compact and discreet motor/battery system, such as the Mahle X20 or a similar lightweight equivalent (often with torque around 55 Nm). The 250 Wh battery (with a range extender option) is almost invisible in the downtube, and the bike's total weight hovers around 11-12 kg.

The design features the clean, aerodynamic lines typical of high-performance road bikes, with fully integrated cables and a monocoque carbon cockpit. The Futa EVO is designed to offer subtle yet effective assistance on climbs or against headwinds, maintaining the agile and responsive feel of a traditional racing bike.
