ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 ride test review Build quality
The Competitively priced Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 is the entry level of the Turbo Levo range with a carbon frame, but everything is well done.
The availability of sizes is excellent, as is the 700wh battery.
The Specialized motor is also very good.
The general build quality is therefore very good, you save on components, but nothing is mediocre.
The weight of about 23 kg is in line with its assembly and price.
ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 ride test review Frame
The frame of the Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 is very well done, with modern geometries and a very high quality of construction.
It is not a cheap e-bike but the well-made frame and also the real plus is the abundant number of sizes, there are no sacrifices, everyone has their right frame.
Motor and integrated battery are the classic Specialized products, well made, powerful, with good autonomy and good reliability.
ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 ride test review Assemblies
The assembly of the Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 is of good quality, commensurate with the purchase price of the ebike and in line with other Specialized products.
The "Carbon" version has a "basic" assembly, but still of good quality.
The value for money remains within the sufficiency, but nothing is missing that is really needed.
Everything is well done, not very light, but with e-bikes the weight takes a back seat.
ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 ride test review Comfort
With 150/160mm suspension, comfort is certainly high, it's impossible to ask for more.
That said, ride comfort is excellent.
ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 ride test review Guide
The Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 is not a light e-mtb, but no e-mtb is pleasant to pedal without the thrust of the electric motor.
In fact, the dynamic behavior highlights excellent stability and great ease of driving.
The balance of the frame allows you to climb even technically difficult routes with extreme ease, with intuitive and easy control of the mtb.
Apart from the weight, which you quickly get used to, there are no particular differences with the lighter and more expensive Turbo Levo e-bike models.
Even compared to the muscular version, the behavior is not so different, indeed an untrained athlete will find the e-mtb much easier and more fun to ride.
This is because you can concentrate more on driving.
Therefore, traction uphill and where there is little grip is excellent.
Excellent stability and safety downhill, where performance is really excellent in absolute terms.
Easy to drive on the plains, where ride comfort and good overall performance are appreciated.
Excellent braking and good suspension.
An e-mtb suitable for any route, excellent downhill, but valid on the plains and uphill.
The chassis is really excellent, manageable but without being nervous and with unpredictable reactions.
An easy e-mtb for the novice, but also with excellent potential for the more expert biker.
ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 ride test review Performance
The general performance of the Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 is very high, only partially limited by the overall weight of the bicycle.
But if we make a comparison with the top-of-the-range versions, it certainly isn't worth spending double the money to get a little more.
Be careful not to exaggerate with the thrust of the electric motor, the autonomy is good, but if you exaggerate you risk being left stranded easily.
The autonomy is still valid and allows you to exceed even 100km quite easily.
Thinking of pedaling without the help of the electric motor is something to do only in an emergency.
The best thing is to always have a minimum of thrust, so as to make the bicycle light and easy.
Using the maximum thrust of the engine only for the sections where you want to be really fast.
Overall it is a competitive ebike in terms of performance.
In absolute terms, however, it is very good downhill and just heavy uphill and in the plains.
But the lighter rivals aren't faster, they can only have a little more range because the electric motor is used less and just more thrust in the first pedal stroke.
Minimal and hardly justifiable differences given the prices.
ebike Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 ride test review Strengths and weaknesses
The Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon 2023 proves to be a very good ebike with good overall quality.
It has an excellent frame, available in many sizes and a good assembly.
The motor and battery are just as good.
It doesn't come cheap
and it's not very light.
A beautiful ebike, concrete, effective and efficient.
It also holds the value on the used market well and proves to be superior to many other similar ebikes.
So expensive, but good e-bike.
