Nairo Quintana has arrived at the Brigadier Mayor César Raúl Ojeda airport in San Luis -where various journalists and supporters were waiting for him- after spending some days in Madrid. “I have very good memories of the competition,” he said. “I like the race, the route is amazing and the people are really enthusiastic.”

After his arrival, Nairo went to the Hotel Vista together with his brother Dayer –his roommate- and the rest of the team. Tomorrow, the Movistar Team will train in San Luis for the first time in 2015.

As the last Tour de San Luis winner, Nairo will wear the number one dossard. However, he does not feel any pressure. “We are a team composed out of young riders,” he pointed out. “Of course, I would like to win again in San Luis; that is why we are here. But if I could not win, my brother -Dayer-, Igor Antón and Soler could have their opportunities on the climbs.”

Nairo is not in the same good shape as last year. “In spite of everything, he could win,” says José Luis Jaimerena, the manager of Movistar at the 2015 Tour de San Luis. “Since the Tour de France is my first objective, this winter has been relatively quiet in comparison to the last one,” explains Nairo. “The fall in La Vuelta,” forced him to abandon when he was one of the favourites, “is already forgotten, but the arm still hurts a bit.”

Movistar leader knows about the difficulties of the Argentinian race. “The Argentinian riders are strong, as well as some Colombian riders. In addition, Dani Moreno will be one of the favourites,” he says. “But I insist that my teammates and I will ride to win. But perhaps, the finish in Filo Sierras-Comechingones will be tough for us as we are starting the season.”

No matter what happens in San Luis, Nairo will come back to Colombia. In March he will travel to Europe to participate in Tirreno-Adriatico. “The Tour de France is the main goal, but I also target the races that I will ride as a preparation for the Tour,” emphasises the cycling star.

Together with Nairo, the Movistar Team will be composed out of Dayer Quintana, Igor Antón, Adriano Malori, Marc Soler and Jasha Sütterlin.
