Team Colombia-Coldeportes will start its 2015 season away Europe for the second year in a row: the fourth season of Claudio Corti’s team will get underway at the Tour de San Luis (January 19th-25th), in Argentina.
The organizers of UCI South-American Tour’s most important race have confirmed a demanding route with 3 uphill finishes, Mirador de Potrero, Alto El Amago and Filo Sierras Comechingones, an individual time trial of 17 Km, whilst three stages are suitable for sprinters.
Sports Director Oscar Pellicioli will field a strong 6-man line-up: Colombian National Champion Miguel Angel Rubiano will lead the team, while seizing the opportunity to test his legs in view of the defence of his Tricolor jersey at the Colombian National Championships (February 8th), in Antioquia region, and so will youngster Edward Diaz. Rodolfo Torres will also target the mountain stages, whilst Carlos Julian Quintero and Juan Pablo Valencia will be looking for opportunities in the flat stages, and set up sprinter Leonardo Duque.
“We will start in San Luis again, which is good because it’s a demanding race with high-level competition,” DS Pellicioli said, “we will be looking to show the correct approach, showing off and targeting results from the beginning, to launch the new season on the right track.”
