After the presentation and the last year test, is now in progress an interesting promotion by Wilier for 101SR amending clearly the overall assessment of the model made last year.
In fact, despite having highlighted the excellent qualities of rigidity and driving skills of the frame, my judgment was not so much exciting in relation to the purchase price of the bike. A great bike, but devoted to racing on the flat or hilly, whose list price put it in direct competition with other models, not the best, but that constituted valid alternatives. The offer of WILIER changes everything now. The frame remains the same, updated to version 2015, which improves the maintenance and internal cable. The bike on offer is assembled with Campagnolo Athena 11v and wheels Campagnolo Vento CX, with chain and sprocket Chorus, components Ritchey Pro and saddle San Marco. The weight is 7.7kg (300 grams more than the version at the time tested), but drops the price to 2,998 Euro, compared to a cost of the kit frame of about 2700 Euro. Now, with this price, the bike takes a completely different form and it's hard to find better solutions. At the end, its high rigidity well compensates the weight and only on the more difficult climbs it can be in trouble (but only in comparison with much lighter bikes), small compared to the rest of the advantages. A great deal, buying a quality bike with excellent performance at a "human" price.
