Fabian Cancellara has always had a custom bike, even just in terms of graphics,

compared to the rest of his companions. So let's see in detail what is special about the bike Cancellara.
Since last year, the chosen frame is Trek Domane and not the Trek Madone; for Cancellara the stiffness of both these frame is equivalent and therefore better to give preference to the increased steering precision and comfort of the frame Domane, the difference in weight between the two frames is irrelevant , however, having the bike weigh 6.8Kg.

The frame should have a size smaller than it should have Fabian, as evidenced by the total withdrawal of the saddle.

Unlike others, however, Fabian does not use an attack very long, nor with a negative slope, but at this scale with a dumbbell, from the ergonomic grip, and from the apparent depth with controls moved far forward and down.

In practice, with hands by attacking the torso is slightly more elevated than normal, but already shifting his grip on the controls bust stretches completely and even more if you grab the lower area of the handlebar.

This solution provides several advantages: the frame is smaller, lighter and stiffer, it remains a comfortable riding position, but moving the hands on the controls or down, you get a perfect aerodynamic penetration.

Ever since last year has been abandoned Shimano Dura Ace Di2 in favor of the more traditional mechanical Dura Ace ( which also uses the time trial bike ), we assume that gave preference to the mechanical unit for enhanced safety and reliability, as well as possibilities rapid assistance in the race (which is impossible with the Di2 group). Perhaps negative experiences with the group Di2 make him prefer the mechanical group.

Always present the SRM power meter. The Speedplay pedals have been abandoned in favor of Dura Ace.
