The new Trek Madone frame is completely new and completely redesigned its range Trek Madone 2013, which now grows in the series 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2. Trek Madone 7 Series continues to be made in the USA, as the 6 Series, and presents a new section of the aerodynamic tubes called KVF-Kammtail Virtual Foil, also used for the new fork. Is officially declared a 25watt power saving, at 40 km/h. The drop profile of the tubes is still a novelty and is found with different names, even on other frames. This particular profile as well as improved aerodynamics also improves the rigidity, this is where benefited from the new fork with carbon dropouts and tapered headset. The frame has been optimized for the adoption of electronic groups, if indeed it can adopt the classical mechanical groups. The front brake is positioned above the fork, while the rear one is located on the bottom bracket. In the latter case it has been positioned so that it can be adopted the classic rear brake, without resorting to specific models for time trial bike. The position on the bottom bracket was considered more aerodynamic, has also allowed the tubes to redesign the rear triangle, now thinner and without support for the rear brake, this conformation has saved more grams. The frame is still made in the two geometries H1, with racing position, and H2, with a structure that allows more comfort. The bottom bracket has always set the standard BB90, as well as the detector DuoTrap, compatible with most popular power meters. The frame has a claimed weight of 750 grams. Another innovation is the process of surface finish of the same frame, called U5 Vapor Coat, this process allows a better surface finish, better protection of the carbon and, last but not least, allows a further saving of weight.
