e-bike Giant Talon E+ 2024 road test review Build quality

The Giant Talon E+ 2024 is a well-made bike, it lacks nothing of everything you really need and has an excellent quality-price ratio, but the assembly is clearly "basic", but functional.

Limited range of sizes.

However, everything is considered in the list price, around 2500 euros, very convenient, but the proposed geometry is not always suitable for the cyclist.

All in all, a well-made mtb e-bike with a fair price.

e-bike Giant Talon E+ 2024 road test review Frame

The frame of the Giant Talon E+ 2024 is very well made, specific for this range of e-mtb, although not very light.

The Giant Talon E+ 2 2024 version weighs just over 23kg, but with its list price it is practically unbeatable with its technical characteristics.

A beautiful frame with modern geometries, well made and with good suspension.

Even without excelling in anything, it is a competitive product with the best competitors in its category

e-bike Giant Talon E+ 2024 road test review Assemblies

The assembly of the Giant Talon E+ 2024 is basic, but well done.

The components chosen are valid, but extensive use is made of GIANT components, which are nevertheless valid.

The Giant motor and battery are still valid, the rest of the components are more than good, with the adoption of the Shimano group, another guarantee of reliability and longevity.

e-bike Giant Talon E+ 2024 road test review Comfort

The ride comfort of the Giant Talon E+ 2024 is valid, although the rigidity of the chassis and the absence of a rear suspension are clearly felt.

At these prices, however, there is nothing better.

In fact, to find better you need to go for a full size, but we are already at double the expense...

There is nothing else to add, at most you can customize the saddle.

e-bike Giant Talon E+ 2024 road test review Guide

The Giant Talon E+ 2024 is a very intuitive, easy to ride, sincere electric bicycle.

Excellent for those new to e-mtbs, it is an electric bicycle also valid for those who are more experienced.

Very easy to drive on flat and downhill terrain, very easy to handle, fast, with excellent dynamic performance.

At high speeds it requires a minimum of experience and driving ability, but it is always easily controllable.

Uphill you are greatly helped by the electric motor, you can feel the weight, while the geometry ensures valid rear wheel traction, with just light steering on the steepest climbs.

The fork works well, perhaps not so smooth.

Braking is good and safe.

Overall, driving is very easy and intuitive, you only have difficulty at high speeds and when you demand maximum performance from the chassis.

Considering the purchase price there are no substantial differences with other more expensive electric bicycles.

The Giant Talon E+ 2024 gives its best on the flat, in wide-ranging tourism and also in Urban use, a perfect e-bike in these conditions of use.

e-bike Giant Talon E+ 2024 road test review Performance

Even if the overall weight is not low, the general performance of the Giant Talon E+ 2024 is absolutely competitive for its category.

The engine has good thrust, even on the most difficult climbs and in the most technical sections.

Good performance on the flats, where the only limit, in absolute terms, comes from the battery life.

Overall there are no substantial differences with other more expensive electric bicycles.

It weighs slightly more, it's true, but it's also true that, in reality, where competitors with double the cost go and how they go, this GIANT also goes.

The only limit may be the capacity of the 500Wh battery, 100km of autonomy is still easily achievable with careful use of the engine.

Ultimately its performances are more than valid and competitive with all similar competitors.

e-bike Giant Talon E+ 2024 road test review Pros and cons

The Giant Talon E+ 2024 proved to be a valid electric bicycle, despite not being particularly refined in its technical solutions.

It is not a light electric bicycle, but this limitation does not have an obvious impact on the performance.

This is one of its advantages, because despite being technically distant from other electric bicycles, it is true that in practice it is competitive against any direct competitor.

The defects? high weight and components that are not at the top, few sizes available and little choice of colors for the frame.

But ultimately everything can be overlooked given the more than competitive price.
